This article over Mary Todd Lincoln gives insight to her battle with depression and the many trials and tribulations she faced after the assasination of her husband. It covers her court proceedings in wich her son, Robert Todd Lincoln was trying to have her committed and her fight to keep her sanity. This is very interesting because throughout history she was thought to be a troubled woman who was no influence over herself or anyone else.

RSS Feed

There are many feeds out there, but I found this really helpful because it not only gives you lots of background on Mary Todd Lincoln, but it shows where her house in Lexington is located and all types of events held there. It would be a great place to visit to learn more on this colorful first lady.

Reputable Website

Do not be fooled by websites that have lots of facts and information on historical figures, most of your top ten will be websites that are most popular, viewed frequently, but not always the most historically correct. For an accurate website visit this one, it is sponsored by the White House and has many first lady bios. I chose it because it gives more of the personal side of Mrs. Lincoln.

This blog is focused on Abraham Lincoln, his life, career, and his family. This blog sheds a different perspective on Mrs. Lincoln and how her husbands demise lead to her declining mental health. I feel like this blog is interesting because it shares lots of detail inside their lives. I used the search engine Bing to help find this blog.

Why blog....

This blog is an assignment for one of my college courses, it is designed to familiarize us with the wonderful web world and keep us updated on the modern forms of communication and research. I am excited about learning how to do this blog because I am not much for technology and doing things like this. I am going to be blogging about Mary Anne Todd Lincoln, the first lady. She was a strong, well educated woman who was very influential in politics, mostly the career of her husband Abraham Lincoln the 16th president. I hope to share with you this amazing woman behind the most inspiring president our nation has had.
